Sergio Henrique Ferreira
Sergio H. Ferreira was born on January 17, 1989, in the municipality of Moreno, Pernambuco, Brazil. He spent his childhood in Santo Aleixo, a neighborhood in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, where he lived with his parents and his older sister. From an early age, he demonstrated creativity and a strong interest in storytelling, developing narratives and characters in collaboration with his sister.
At the age of nine, he moved with his family to the Curado II neighborhood, also in Jaboatão dos Guararapes. During this time, he enrolled at Simón Bolívar State School, where he was first introduced to artistic activities through the community program: Escola Aberta. The program operated on weekends and offered workshops in music, and other cultural expressions. It was in this environment that Sergio began studying music theory and keyboard, showing a natural ability to understand harmonic structures and a growing interest in instrumental practice.
In 2003, Sergio began his musical journey as a keyboardist in an evangelical church in Curado II. There, he developed his keyboard skills and refined his musical perception, actively participating in worship services and expanding his involvement to external events such as weddings and birthday celebrations. He remained in this community until 2008, gaining extensive experience in live performance and musical accompaniment.
In 2008, he joined another church, this time, serving as the leader of the instrumental group. In this new phase, he adopted the guitar as his primary instrument, while occasionally playing keyboard. This leadership role provided him with experience in musical arrangement, direction, and rehearsal coordination, marking the beginning of his more prominent work as a guitarist.
Parallel to his church activities, during high school in 2006, he took part in a theatrical production based on the film A Dog’s Will (O Auto da Compadecida). The group went on to compete in a cultural festival in Olinda, performing in a local theater. Although they did not win the competition, the experience contributed to his artistic development and confidence in public performance.
With the goal of improving his technical proficiency in guitar, Sergio enrolled at the Professional Center for Musical Creativity of Recife (CPCMR), now known as ETE Criatividade Musical. He studied there for approximately three years, receiving structured training in music theory, harmony, and instrumental practice. Realizing that a musical career did not offer financial stability in his circumstances, Sergio decided to pursue academic training in a technical field. In 2010, he enrolled at the Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE) to study Telecommunications Technology. During this time, he began working professionally as a mobile phone service technician, a position that provided him with financial independence. Music remained present only as a complementary activity, limited to church performances and occasional wedding engagements.
Alongside his technical career, he continued producing original music and independently recorded two homemade EPs to document his compositions: After... (2012) and Believe (2016), both released for digital download.
In 2016, Sergio began his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science, seeking to unify his scientific vocation with a desire to contribute to the field of health.
In 2018, during his internship at HEMOPE (Pernambuco Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation), Sergio participated in Blood Donor Week, contributing not only as an intern but also through a keyboard performance, merging his scientific background with his musical talent Click Here.
In 2020, he published his first book in English, The Secret of the Second Moon, marking the beginning of his literary career. He later revised and expanded the work, releasing it in Portuguese in 2025 under the title O Segredo da Segunda Lua. That same year, he published the spin-off Família Original, made available for free on his official website.
In addition to his fiction works, Sergio H. Ferreira is the author of academic books aimed at students, including ACELERE SEUS ESTUDOS: Estratégias com Inteligência Artificial (2024) and FARMACOLOGIA BÁSICA: Resumo para o estudante (2024), both available as e-books. These publications reflect his interest in supporting learning and academic development, combining scientific knowledge with pedagogical strategies.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science in 2020, solidifying his professional transition to the biomedical field. During this period, he also began his academic career by taking on the role of Distance Education tutor at the Ser Educacional Group, marking the beginning of his formal involvement in higher education.
In 2024, he was admitted to the Graduate Program in Health Sciences at the University of Pernambuco (UPE), beginning his master’s degree with a focus on biomedical research. The following year, in 2025, he passed a public examination and assumed the position of medical laboratory scientist for the Municipality of Brejo da Madre de Deus, Pernambuco. Consequently, he moved with his wife and daughters to the new city, establishing residence and consolidating his career in public service.
Currently, Sergio H. Ferreira serves as a biomedical scientist in the Municipality of Brejo da Madre de Deus. In parallel, he continues his artistic work as a musician, composer, and writer, integrating science, art, and creativity throughout his personal and professional journey.
